It is very interesting to compare fair use and fair dealing. I see merits to both. Though I do agree that fair dealing favors artists and writers more, fair use favors technology companies, such as Google, more.

People complain about how heavy handed U.S. copyright law can be, and indeed is in places, but in some ways it is a lot lighter than in other parts of the world. I'm not sure which system I prefer though.
